So.
The dreaded "start of pre-K" update.
As my subject line may hint at, it wasn't perfect.
I mean, my child was perfect, the teachers are thrilled, everybody raves about how she's started feeding herself so daintily etc etc...
But nobody clues in that this includes dumping a toddler - because it feels like dumping her - who will melt into tears, her face crumpled up like a tortellino, when she realizes that yes, mama IS going to hand her to the teacher and exit the door.
Nobody tells you about how you won't be able to pee without her holding onto your trousers because line-of-sight is suddenly not enough anymore.
Nobody seems to have the same middle-of-the-night crying jags that end when you hold her (and blast, just when you'd started to get used to sleep through the night again!).
What everybody and their best friend will tell you is to get ready and used to live in a plague house.
And wow are they right.
My little Boss brought home the sniffles on her 3 day..9 days ago. We've been sniffling and coughing since. And the snot. There's no end to the snot.
The world is secretly made of Snot. We are doomed.

But possibly maybe tomorrow she will be able to go to pre-K again. *crosses fingers*

So, after a mere eleven years I come back with a post.
And the amusing/despairing thing is that SO MUCH has happened that I do not think I could make a summary (a summary that makes sense, at least) of this silent time.
So I'll go on with what goes on in the present:
My child will start pre-kindergarten next week. Today I'll meet the teachers and other parents and pretend to be a funtional adult parent.
Wish me lusck (I'm already doig so!).
